Dear Stourbridge members,
I have read your blog on the 1917 ALF in your club. Great reading and very informative.
My 1917 ALF is entering the 2025 Peking to Paris. I’m looking for a Bendix spring (or the entire bendix drive) for the Leece Neville starter motor and; despite extensive research, have been unable to find one on google.
With your clubs resources, do you know where I could buy one? Cheers
Regards,
Alan Maden

Hi,
I’ve just been recommended your club for our summer fete. I’m an Activities coordinator at Prestwood Coach House (DY7 5AL) We’re organising a summer fete on Saturday 27th July (11-3) Is there any chance you could bring 2/3 cars for our residents and visitors to look at, as part of our day? This would be a real treat.
I look forward to hearing from you
Many thanks

Hello
I just noticed the club on the Evoke website and wonder if it is the same club I was temporarily the treasurer for - maybe 55+ years ago?
One of the main men so to speak if I recall correctly was a John Smallman?
I also remember locating Baron Davonport's straight 8 Daimler limo with another member (only a few of us then) - but his name eludes me.
I had a Sunbeam OJ5888 that I ran around in at the time - travelling to work in Mary Stevens Park from Wednesbury.
Is this the same club? - we used to meet at a small pub just out of town and not so far fron John's home I think, but again the pub name is lost in the fog of time😂😂
Hope to hear from someone with a good memory!
Best wishes Graham

Good Evening Mr. Grimmett, Mr. Woolridge and Mr. Read,
As a youth services librarian, I would just like to say a quick word of thanks! I've been able to get some great use out of your car club's resource links list as I'm running a fun educational project on classic cars and automobile history for a small group of 10-14 year olds over the last few months. We were even able to use some of this information for our group project! Thanks so much for sharing! stourbridgeprewarcc.com/links.html
I hope you don't mind, one of our youngest, Amelia has also asked me if I could share a piece that she and her father found together on The Automotive Industry and Its History, which includes a great breakdown on auto history starting in the 1800's through the 2000's, and covers Trevithick's London Steam Carriage, Ford's Automobile Assembly Line, CAD Software in the 1960's, GM Industrial Robots in Manufacturing, etc. I've included it below if you'd like to review!
We noticed you don't have this one listed, but Amelia was actually the one to bring up that this could be something you might like to include for other young enthusiasts and families who may also have an interest in learning more, like Amelia!
If you find you are able to use this one, would you please let me know? We're meeting Wednesday afternoon before the holiday break, and I would absolutely love to surprise Amelia and the group if you're able to do so - my hope is that this provides encouragement and would make Amelia proud to see she was able to pay it forward, and perhaps even show her father their contribution if it ends up being included!
Thanks again for all your help here,
Helen Garraway

Good afternoon,
The Online Austin Seven Club's first Pre-War Car Show in April 2023 was very successful, so we are making it an annual event. Our second show will be held on Sunday 7th April 2024 and will be a car show solely for pre-war cars.
Currently, many car shows are Classic Car Shows, nothing wrong there, but often pre-war cars are in the minority, so we have chosen to invite pre-war cars only, and we hope that some of your members who own a pre-war car will be able to join us. The attached flyer gives all pertinent information.
Hammerwich is midway between Lichfield and Burntwood, Staffordshire, and is approx. 20 miles north of Birmingham. Their Cricket Club is an ideal venue because it has all necessary facilities and plenty of space.
Would you advise your members, please, and include our flyer in your Club Magazine/Newsletter, the gathering is in aid of the Lions charity?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Best wishes,
Mac

Dear Classic Car Enthusiast Club
As the designers and manufacturers of the Award winning BriteAngle LED Warning Triangle, we would like to offer your members a one-off offer discount!
The RRP on our website shows the cost of the BriteAngle LED Warning Triangle as £59.95 plus £6.95 p&p.
For a limited time, we are able to offer your members a discounted price of £15 plus £6.95 p&p.
We are able to do this only as we come to the end of a stock run, and have a limited amount of stock that can be sold at this special price. So this offer is on a first come, first served basis!
We have chosen to offer this discount to the Classic Car community as we have had so much support from classic car owners, including members of the Jaguar Enthusiast Club, the Ferrari Owners Club, the Rolls Royce Owners Club, the Caterham Owners Club, the Lagonda owners Club and many more.
To take advantage of this special offer, please direct your members to the following link which will give them the option to purchase either 1 or 2 BriteAngles.
https://www.briteangle.clientportal.info
Should you wish to see more, please go to our website www.briteangle.com where you will find testimonials and videos.
Should you have any events coming up where you think your members might like to see us, please do let us know. We may well be able to come along.
"At the recent NEC classic car show something rather neat caught our eye - which is exactly what it was meant to do. It’s an idea that seems obvious but we hadn’t seen it before, a warning triangle that lights up using high-intensity LEDs, to help prevent someone from slamming into the back of your car. Powered by four AA batteries, the highly visible safety aid can be set to flash or light continuously. Really well made and thought through, the BriteAngle is an impressive piece if kit.”

Dear Chris
I wonder if you can help at all from your expertise? I'm in the process of completing a novel set just before the First World War (in England). The country house within the story would have a car as well as the usual horse and carriage, and I do not want to make a guess at the type of car such a house would have had around 1910. Are you able to offer any advice so I can ensure accuracy? I hope you may be able to help and thanks as always.

Dear Sir / Madam
i have an 1935 BMW 319 /1 Roadster for Sale with BMW Certificate
May you pass this on to your members
This BMW 319/1 VIN (VIN 55008) was built in the Eisenach plant in 1935 and delivered to the BMW dealer Philipp Kraft in Mainz on May 2nd, 1935, according to the BMW CLASSIC certificate. (Certificate is available).
Unfortunately, there are no more documents from the BMW dealer Philipp Kraft in Mainz and there is no information about the original color. However, we know that this vehicle was delivered as a 319/1 Roadster. This vehicle is said to have been sold in the UK in the mid or late 1970s. Unfortunately, there is no solid evidence here. The vehicle is fully restored and all original parts have been overhauled where possible, the trained eye of a collector will of course see some details that need improvement. We have also taken this into account in the price.
verifiable history:
According to the registration, the vehicle first appeared in the UK on November 2nd, 2006.
And in March 2008 it was sold to the USA by the auction house Coys at the Techno Classica in Essen. Presumably a classic car dealer from Danville, California bought the vehicle. Then the vehicle went to the Auto Collection in Las Vegas and was in the museum there.
A private collector from California then bought the vehicle in 2010 and has kept it in perfect condition to this day.
No matching number - the engine number 55739
Block number: 319011000 built in 1935 this engine comes from a 319 sedan
